This documentary is extremely well done, I absolutely loved it.

I didn't know who Bill Hicks was until I clicked a link from some Joe Rogan bullshit I was watching & started laughing my ass off. He wasn't just funny, he spoke the truth about some far out shit. He was a well read guy, whether it was religion, politics, consumerism, or some other bullshit. This documentary is part stand up and part interviews with comedians and tv personalities that knew him. If I had to compare him to another comedian it would probably be George Carlin, but more direct and foul.

Emmanuel Jal was born in Sudan during a war, grew up with war, and fought in four battles as a child soldier. The above song 'Emma' is about an aid worker that smuggled him from a village in Sudan to Nairobi, Kenya and took care of him until she died in the 90's. There he became a well known hip hop artist and escaped the slums.



The film follows Jal to Kenya and through Sudan visiting places he passed through as a child. It includes footage of Jal as a kid (who is never seen without his Asterix shirt) that was taken from an earlier film. As you follow his story, you also learn the story of Sudan as a whole.

I don't even like hip hop, but i can't ignore the power of this music:

Ok people. This is officially the funniest video I've EVER seen on youtube.

Basically about a guy who is trying to film an infomercial for the new 1989 Winnebago line, but is having a bit of an off day. They even made a documentary about this years later; click here to see the trailer.

If you haven't seen this, you HAVE to watch. I literally cried for 7.5 minutes.

I'm having trouble rating this because it isn't a true documentary. My instinct tells me to give this one a 10/10, but I should probably play that one down a bit due to the fact that this is just a short youtube clip essentially about nothing. So here it is. The Definitive Winnebago Man.

Then, they figure they can chop off a monkey's head and pop it onto another monkey's body. Sew that shit back together and the monkey is good to go. The only problem is they can't hook the spinal cord up so the monkey is crippled. There's video of that shit and other questionable shit like multi-headed dogs. This is only 15 min,

I saw this shit a while back, it won mad film festival shit. It basically explains why people today listen to shitty music. Narrated by Forest Whitaker's soothing voice, interviews with Eric Clapton, Elvis Costello, Dave Matthews, My Morning Jacket, and a shitload more. Originally, music on the radio was chosen by DJs. Then some laws changed and allowed corporations to own an unlimited number of stations (they could only have a few before). Turns out its good business to create something like Jack FM that plays bullshit that most people nod their heads to just enough not to change the station. The ultimate money making music ends up being something that sounds familiar to everyone, doesn't offend, and generally is some pussy bullshit.

This shit is about Daniel Tammet, a genius savant motherfucker. This hard thug recites pi to 22,000 decimal places in five hours, as well as learns icelandic (supposedly this is difficult) in a week. He is one of about 25 savants in the world who can do this kind of shit. He also meets Kim Peek, the inspiration for Diddy Hoff's Rain Man character. What makes Tammet unique is that he is so high functioning. All the other savants have mad problems with autism, but Tammet's autism (known as Asperger syndrome) is hard to notice.

This doc is all about Ralph Nader. His other aliases include The Saviour, The Light, and more commonly just The Truth. He is responsible for all sorts of shit including forcing GM to include seatbelts on their cars in the 60s. Unfortunately, people don't pay him any love or respect when he ran for president four times. This film gives a glimpse of Nader's legacy from the past 50 years and critically examines his role in the 2000 presidential election as a third party candidate. With hindsight, had Nader not run, Al Gore would have undoubtedly become the President instead of George Bush. The question the film asks is whether Nader should have backed down and allowed the lesser of two evils take the presidency.

Side note: As an example of the die-hard support this guy has, he sold out Madison Square Garden for what he called a "super-rally" in 2000 - charging people $20 to come and listen to him speak. Or maybe they were there to see some of his supporters: Bill Murray, Ben Harper, Eddie Vedder, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, and some other geezers. At the same time, Bush and Gore were paying to bus people to smaller rallies.

The lady making the film is trying to convince women that this procedure is unnecessary and all vagoos should be seen as beautiful, but when you have ridiculous genitalia thrown in your face it can be hard to respect its individuality. I can see how these buttervaginas get tempted.

If you are watching this, there is a good probability that these people hate you.

This shit is pretty funny and gets serious towards the end. Mostly about christian and muslim fundamentalism. Maher goes to a Creationist Museum in Kentucky, which shows that dinosaurs and people lived at the same time 5000 years ago. He talks to truckers at a Truckers' Chapel (Sign outside: 'Jesus love you.'). He goes to a theme park called Holy Land in Florida. He speaks to a rabbi in league with Holocaust deniers. He talks to a Muslim musician who preaches hatred of Jews. Maher finds the unlikeliest of believers and, in a certain Vatican priest, he even finds an unlikely skeptic. If you are looking for serious criticism of religion, read a book. If you want to laugh at people for believing crazy things, this is for you.
