Louis Theroux: Thai Brides

Louis Theroux struck gold yet again in this brilliant documentary which featured the ‘Introduction Services’ available in Thailand to men from overseas seeking Thai women for marriage. White dudes from everywhere are going to marry these Thai chicks... Some of them get married after a few days, it's pretty jokes.

Although presented in a fairly light-hearted format, it was very thought-provoking. Of course, to most of us the notion of these agencies is abhorrent to say the least, but I think they're pretty OK. Largely due to the style of presentation, it was quite revealing to listen to the viewpoints of the ‘clients’ and owners, who seemed to feel comfortable expressing their views. Louis Theroux’ style, which does not at first appear overly challenging, allows a truer insight into a person’s behaviour and makes him/her less defensive and consequently more candid.

Meet Issei Sagawa, a Japanese dude who decided to kill a girl, rape her, then eat part of her body. He's felt cannibalistic tendencies since he was young, but had always suppressed them. One day, while attending University in France, he cracked.

What's even more amazing is that the French government allowed him to return to Japan where (as the French though) he would serve proper time and receive proper treatment. Anyone who knows anything about the criminal justice system knows that the only place you can pay for a crime is the place where you were charged with it.

So the guy went back to Japan, and was set free. Still alive today, he does whack pornos among other weird shit. This "sexual psychopath" has also become a sort of anti-hero in Japan. Awesome? You be the judge.

Paul Bernado and Karla Homolka were Canadian serial killers who attracted worldwide media attention when they were convicted of raping and murdering teenage girls. What is even more insane is that one of these girls included Karla's younger sister.

Basically Paul only gets turned on by violent sex, or sex with virgins. Whack, I know. He marries this young hoe who is so insecure that she will literally do anything for him, including lure young girls into drugged orgies with them. If you think that's sick, you don't even know the half of it. Watch it, see what other gruesome escapades these two take part in. If you're from the Greater Toronto Area, you have probably heard of all of this.

All of these questions and many more are answered by American Pimp. Few documentaries communicate such pertinent messages to society. Unexpectedly, this film goes deep in to the philosophy of pimping.

Interviews with Georgous Dre, Kenny Red, C-note, Rosebudd, and the archbishop himself Don Magic Juan.

An exploration of vaginal reconstructive surgery. Many gross wizard sleeves are displayed and one operation is shown near the end. It is a candidate for most horrifying thing I have ever seen. Your a sick fuck if you watch this.

The lady making the film is trying to convince women that this procedure is unnecessary and all vagoos should be seen as beautiful, but when you have ridiculous genitalia thrown in your face it can be hard to respect its individuality. I can see how these buttervaginas get tempted.
